About Adam
Adam Sud is a nutrition and addiction behavior researcher, international speaker, and the founder and CEO of Plant Based for Positive Change, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing research and understanding of how nutrition impacts mental health and addiction.
He currently lectures all over the world and coaches individuals using nutrition, the science of behavior change, and evolutionary psychology to understand and achieve their personal mental health and wellness goals.
In 2020, Plant Based for Positive Change conducted The INFINITE Study: Pilot Research Exploring Plant-Based Nutrition in Treatment for Substance Use Disorders which is the first study to explore how nutrition might influence early recovery outcomes, due to the understanding that the standard treatment model for substance use disorders (SUDs) rarely incorporates a dietary intervention. Early addiction treatment outcomes showed modest but important effects of whole food plant-based nutrition and suggest value in further exploration of its use in SUD treatment and all participants experienced positive trends toward psychosocial health improvements.
He served as lead insulin resistance and food addiction coach for Mastering Diabetes from 2018 to 2022, a program that focuses on reversing insulin resistance to master type 1, Type 1.5, pre-diabetes, and type 2 diabetes using plant-based nutrition. He served as a clinical health coach for Whole Foods Market's Global Wellness Center at the company headquarters from 2017-2018. From 2015-2017 Sud has worked in mental health and behavioral health treatment centers as a group facilitator, using plant-based nutrition to strengthen recovery and relapse prevention.
Sud is an international speaker and has presented at some of the largest stages in the world: Google, Make Big Happen Summit, Whole Foods Market Tribal Gathering, The Food Revolution Summit, Plant-Stock, Nexus Summit, and many more.
His story and expertise have been featured in various books, documentaries, magazines, and podcasts, including Forbes, Men's Health Magazine, and Psychology Today.
Sud’s coaching program uses nutrition, the science of behavior change, and evolutionary psychology to fundamentally shift people’s ability to move in the direction they have always wanted to go in their health and wellness journey. The curriculum aims to help people better understand the mechanisms of compulsions and behavior change, as well as to understand the science of nutrition as it relates to one's unique goals. His ultimate goal is to change people’s perception of nutrition, specifically in how they view and utilize plant-based nutrition, and evolve the way experts care for people with addiction and mental illness. He aims to teach his clients how to organize their environment so that success becomes easier and repeatable.
